Maggie Ward is a Los Angeles–based textile artist working with wool and natural fibers to create tapestry weavings and sculptural baskets. Rooted in traditional craft practices, her work explores the relationship between color, texture, and form.

Ward approaches fiber as both structure and surface. Many of her tapestry weavings begin with watercolor landscapes, translating color, shape, and atmosphere into woven form. Variations in texture, density, and structure invite both a visual and physical experience of the work.

The making itself is meditative. Repetition becomes contemplation, and the quiet labor of weaving offers space for reflection. Traditional basketry and textile techniques serve as a foundation, allowing material and process to guide the final form.
